Product Overview
DesignedFilm Gradient Film 1 is an interior glass finish engineered to fulfill the technical performance criteria of CSI MasterFormat Section 08 87 00. This privacy surface is manufactured on a heavy-duty, scratch-resistant Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) substrate equipped with a permanent, clear high-peel acrylic structural adhesive. Developed for large-scale corporate construction layouts, it features a 25-linear-foot minimum procurement order limit and is acquired directly from us as the sole manufacturer and exclusive distributor at any designated linear length to optimize field yield. Standard roll widths are supplied in 24-inch, 30-inch, 48-inch, and 60-inch profiles to align with common commercial glazing frameworks.
Primary Applications
This architectural glass finish is structured for commercial interior architects, general contractors, and facility specifiers managing corporate office build-outs. It implements visual boundaries across multi-panel administrative office glass partition walls, conference room perimeters, and modular demountable workspace dividers. The calibrated frosted white-to-clear fade curve is positioned to obscure private presentation layouts and monitor views at sitting eye level while allowing natural daylight to transmit deep into interior office suites.

How It Compares
In high-volume commercial specifications, DesignedFilm Gradient Film 1 optimizes material efficiency and supply chain integrity compared to standard multi-tier distributor setups. While third-party sourcing options present fulfillment delays and fragmented lot numbers due to scattered warehouse inventories, we control the entire manufacturing run as the sole exclusive distributor. This direct loop allows estimators to acquire the exact linear footage required for complete floor plates, reducing drop scrap waste. Field installation teams pull continuous horizontal runs across consecutive glass panes, seaming cleanly and naturally at the native structural glass joints. This factory-direct pipeline ensures absolute graphic alignment and pattern registration while cutting out distributor markups. We focus exclusively on neutral architectural white-to-clear transitions, omitting home-use colored prints.
Target User Restrictions
Do not use this product for temporary retail window promotions, seasonal window dressing, or single-pane residential DIY installations. The permanent acrylic structural adhesive is formulated for multi-year contract bonding and requires mechanical glass scraping tools for removal. It is also inappropriate for specialized laboratory or security zones demanding complete night-time blackout isolation, as light and structural silhouettes remain visible when interior spaces are illuminated against dark exterior hallways.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can DesignedFilm Gradient Film 1 be ordered to an exact linear footage? A: Yes, this architectural glazing film can be sourced directly from us as the sole manufacturer at any specified linear length to fit your exact project dimensions. A strict 25-linear-foot minimum order limit applies per run to maintain calibration consistency across the batch configuration.
Q: How do commercial installers handle alignment across multiple glass panels? A: Installers execute clean, precise material seams directly over the natural vertical or horizontal structural joints of the glass panels. This standard construction field workflow matches the existing building framework and ensures pattern consistency across consecutive panes.
Q: Is this product a temporary static window cling? A: No, this product uses a permanent, clear high-peel acrylic structural glass adhesive backing. It is engineered for long-term contract durability and will not bubble, lift, or peel along the borders under daily commercial janitorial maintenance.
Q: What is the maximum roll length available for a project run? A: Master rolls can be manufactured continuously up to 130 linear feet per run. This flexible configuration allows project estimators to match bulk footage parameters precisely, minimizing scrap drop waste during installation across long workspace partitions.
Q: Are physical validation samples available for architectural submittals and approvals? A: Yes, general contractors and commercial specifiers can order standalone 8.5" x 11" physical validation samples directly. These sample sheets allow design teams to test material thickness, PET scratch resistance, and exact opacity transitions on site.
Q: Is this gradient architectural glass finish rated for exterior windows? A: No, this product is certified and warrantied strictly for interior flat glass applications. Applying this film to exterior-facing windows exposes the PET substrate to environmental weather degradation and voids the 5-year commercial warranty.
Q: Does this frosting material block natural light from traveling through the office? A: No, the white-to-clear gradient opacity scale is engineered to diffuse direct glare while preserving ambient light pathways. It successfully secures individual privacy at sitting eye level without decreasing overall interior room illumination.
Q: What building fire codes does this privacy glazing finish satisfy? A: This product carries a Class A fire rating performance standard for interior commercial build-out environments. This certification satisfies the rigorous structural safety submittal demands mandated by building inspectors and general contractors.
Q: How does this film perform as an alternative to motorized office blinds or smart glass? A: It provides a zero-maintenance, always-on visual barrier at a fraction of the capital equipment and wiring cost of electrical switchable smart glass. It maintains an open, collaborative interior layout without mechanical parts or electrical infrastructure overhead.
